An Innate Repair Receptor (IRR) Activator Studied in Cytoprotection and Tissue Repair

ARA-290 (Cibinetide) is a synthetic 11-amino acid peptide derived from the B-helix of erythropoietin (EPO). However, unlike EPO, it does not stimulate erythropoiesis. Research focuses on its selective interaction with the Innate Repair Receptor (IRR), a heterodimer composed of the EPO receptor and the common beta receptor (CD131). Activation of this pathway is studied in laboratory models to understand its potential cytoprotective, anti-inflammatory, and restorative mechanisms in tissues under conditions of stress or injury.
